Leadership Update

The Miramonte Leadership class is currently dealing with the loss of their rally leaders, seniors Matt Solit and Jamie Howells, after they were let go following the Welcome Back Rally.

Rebecca George, the Leadership teacher, is trying to find new students to replace Solit and Howells. “We’re not going to bring anyone new in,” George said.  “We’re looking for someone in the class who’s interested to step into the role.”

Senior spirit commissioners Taylor Nielson, Meghan Marks, and Howells are helping with the process.

The class is also in the midst of organizing Miramonte’s annual Club Day, which will take place Friday, Sept. 21. Leadership held a meeting on Aug. 31 for anyone interested in starting a club.

Leadership is also working to build up Miramonte’s recycling program and to implement the program within the next few weeks.  “The leadership class is really fortunate to have the environmental club’s help with recycling,” sophomore class Vice President Elizabeth Fellner said.  “I think the program will go even better than last year.”
