AGATE Attends Annual Point Reyes Trip
October 23, 2012
The AGATE program is taking a field trip to Point Reyes this weekend from Thursday until Saturday. AGATE, the Acalanes Gifted and Talented Education, is a group of students recommended by teachers, who are then chosen in a lottery to participate in various activities.
AGATE students are taking this trip to learn about the area and create a project based on what they learn there. The project requires a focus on two disciplines (math and science, English and history, etc.) and which will then be presented at a meeting following the trip.
“You get five points of credit for a semester class,” junior Paige Powell said.
