On Tuesday, May 19, Miramonte’s French students gathered in the French classroom during lunch for an award ceremony. 49 students received awards for the “Grand Concours”, a National French test that includes grammar, reading, and listening.
French club president, Natalie Adey, and treasurer, Elise Anthenien, presented the awards to the 49 recipients. 29 of these students received honorable mentions for scoring in the 50th to 70th percentiles on the test.
The other 20 students received medals of varying honor: bronze, silver, and gold. “This is a great improvement because many more people received awards this year than they did last year,” French teacher Patricia Richards said.
Many French students were in attendance and congratulated the many winners of this prestigious award.
