The Lady Mats placed third at DFALs, the Diablo Foothill Athletic League, on October 14. While Dougherty Valley and Dublin took home first and second respectively, Miramonte had a great day against teams in the league. Miramonte had the same score as Acalanes but were given the win because they had an extra player. Last year, the Lady Mats placed fourth, and the team was happy with their improvement. This season ended with seven wins and five losses, up from the six-six record.
Lady Mats ended the season after a triumph at the North Coast Section tournament. Six players battled it out against 10 other teams in Mckinleyville, California, six hours away from Miramonte, on the 18 hole Beau Pre Golf Course. Last year, Miramonte placed second and were overjoyed to place first this year. The Lady Mats had a shotgun start with all players grouped in fours with players from all different schools. The win came down to the last player on an opposing team.
“When the results were finally posted, everyone was really excited and there was a lot of jumping up and down. It made the six hour trek worth it,” senior and co-captain Claire Marvin said. “As seniors and captains, it was nice for Tori and I to end our last year with a win at NCS.”
