Team prepares to rebound from previous year and looks forward to a promising start

After a disappointing 2010 season, Miramonte softball foresees a turnaround in 2011. With Spanish teacher Meghan Flores joining Roger Jost as part of the coaching staff, the girls are optimistic for a strong season.
On Tuesday, March 1, the team put up a good fight against Bishop O’Dowd. With a final score of 13-0, many of the girls were disappointed that their hard work did not show through in their first official game of the season.

The game scheduled for Friday, Feb. 25 against Skyline High School was rained out, but the girls anticipate victory in upcoming games.

“Tryout week saw a good group of girls coming out,” said Breanna Correll ‘13. “We had several new freshman and juniors added into the mix. We have a variety of individual talents that each girl brings to the team.” This strong sense of community has kept the team together throughout recent seasons.

Preseason 2010 was filled with MHS softball victories, but when the real season began, these victories petered out.

Towards the end of the 2010 season, the margin of their losses closed in as the games became tighter. Even so, the team was unable to secure a victory.

The team is excited to show the school what they are capable of with a successful 2011 season.
