Jack Schram moves up in the Varsity football coaching staff to Head Coach this year. Schram comes to the team with over 20 years of coaching experience. As an Assistant Coach for the team since 2006, he worked under Coach John Wade until Wade decided to retire from Miramonte to coach Dublin High School this year.

Schram has been an Assistant Coach for lacrosse as well since 2009. Before coaching at Miramonte, Schram was the head coach for the Encinal High School Varsity football team for 15 years.

“Coach Schram really knows what he’s talking about when it comes to football. His tips and strategies have already made a difference in how I play the game,” said captain Jack Pietrykowski ’12.

Many players on the team feel that Schram’s coaching style and strategies are uniting the team. “Schram’s football IQ is through the roof. He is a great person and coach, and no one wants to let him down,” said Captain Kelly McGonigle ’12. “Making Schram our Head Coach was the team’s biggest off-season improvement.”

Schram was an athlete in high school, balancing football, track, and wrestling at Alameda High School in Lakewood, Colorado. He was both an offensive guard and a defensive tackle, and excelled in both positions. He was awarded a full athletic scholarship for football to Arizona State Univeristy. He graduated with a Bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems.

A familiar face to both football and lacrosse fans, Coach Schram tirelessly devotes his expertise and love of the game to his team.

“Seeing Coach Schram at the helm gives me confidence that the boys are in good hands, both for technique and strategies, but also for personal development,” said one parent fan.

Many players on the team look forward to playing their next game against Acalanes under the guidance of their new coach. “Schram has a killer strategy for beating Acalanes  on Friday. I bet we will be rockin’ the 4-0 ratio,” said Brian Weller ‘12. The team plays toinght at home at 7 o’clock.
