On Thursday, Aug. 30, the women’s golf team played their first match against Alhambra High School, winning 319-285 at their home course of Orinda Country Club.

With only a six-player team, captains Claire Marvin ‘14 and Tori Hoff ‘14 led their team to victory. Top individual scores include Hoff’s score of 48 and Marvin’s score of 54. Another big contribution to the team’s win was from newcomer Libby Dunne ‘16, who shot a score of 59.

Players admit they didn’t play their best that day, but were glad to get it out of their system because Alhambra isn’t their toughest competition.

“I didn’t win individually, but considering my opponent was one of their top players, I was glad I almost beat her,” said Dunne.

The golf team plays again on Thursday Sept. 6 against Las Lomas and hopes to pull out another win.
