This past weekend the varsity men’s water polo team placed sixth at the Santa Barbara Invitational.

The boys clenched their first victory over Laguna Beach 10-9 at Dos Pueblos High School. Captain Jack Fellner ‘13 led the team to victory scoring the winning penalty shot.

In the second game of the day Miramonte suffered a loss of 6-9 to Loyola. The boys came out victorious the next morning against Santa Barbara 10-4. In their final game at Santa Barbara high school they lost in a sudden death overtime to Cathedral Catholic 10-11.

“Although we didn’t place as well as expected our games were close and we played well,” said Tyler Kirchberg ‘14. “The team isn’t disappointed.”

The boys take on San Ramon Valley tomorrow at home.
