Miramonte men’s tennis has played 10 games so far in the 2013 season, and they have yet to be defeated.  Four of these wins came at the James Logan Invitational, where the Mats repeated their victory from 2012.

“We have a really solid team, and we’re off to a good start,” Andrew Tan ’13 said. “We don’t want go get ahead of ourselves, but we’re hoping for the best.”

The Mats have shown that they have the talent and depth to go far this year, winning most of their matches with decisive margins. Playing at Dublin last Thursday, they went 9-0 to move to 5-0 for the season.

At the James Logan Invitational over the weekend, Miramonte captured the title by going 7-0, 6-1, 7-0, 7-0 against Foothill, James Logan, San Ramon and Branson-Ross respectively. Luke Bohuslav ‘13, who went undefeated as the No. 1 singles player, highlighted the performance.

“We pretty much destroyed the tournament,” Tanner Wendt ’13 said. “Everyone’s confidence is boosted after winning by that much.”

In a rivalry game against Campolindo on Tuesday, Miramonte continued its run of form, winning 8-1.

“It’s a great start to DFAL play,” Bohuslav said. “I think that the match reflects the start of our season because we’ve started out really strong and have played very well so far.”
The tennis team plays again this afternoon against Acalanes, where a win would send them to 11-0 on the season.
