Tennis: The reigning NCS champs are excited and looking to repeat last year’s successful season. Captains Luke Bohuslav ‘13 and Andrew Tan ‘13 are preparing the team to take on tough competition. “This year we’re working really hard in practices to simulate match-like circumstances, and we’re keeping the team fit so we can outlast all of our opponents,” Tan said.

Men’s Lacrosse: New head coach Dave Winford has implemented new plays and formations into the offense hoping to confuse opponents.  He hired Miramonte alumni John Hofinga as the new offensive coach and Carson Mead, as the new defensive coach. “The conditioning has been especially tough this year. It was really hard, but I now feel ready for the season,” Ben Sappio ‘14 said.

Softball: Softball got off to a good start after winning their first game against Hercules. After last year’s team ended a long drought of mediocre seasons, many new girls decided to sign up for the team. Second year coach Paul Keener and captains Grace Barosky ‘13 and Sarah Alford ‘13 hope to continue the newfound success this season.

Swimming: After time trials on March 8, swimmers are gearing for the season. Returning as a coach for his 25th year of cooaching Miramonte, Donnie Heidary has fine tuned the process of getting swimmers into shape and ready for the season. “We’re ready to surprise everyone, and come out on top,” captain Charlie Weiser ‘13 said.

Baseball: After losing star players Drew Jackson and Paddy O’Brien to Division 1 schools, baseball has to work extra hard to have another good season this year.  Coach Vince  Dell’Aquila is working hard to improve Miramonte’s defense.“Dell is a rad coach. He really understands the game, the team, and knows what we need to do to improve,” captain George McConnell ‘13 said.

Track and Field: With the track and field season off to a running start, varsity distance is predicted to make a bang in the 2013 season. Coach Brad Alban is directing focus on long strides and setting a good pace from the start. Captains Tyler Hanson ‘13, Jack Morris ‘13, Arielle Thomas ‘13, Rebekah Ent ‘13 and Anna Boer ‘13 look forward to continuing the tradition of stellar running at Miramonte.

Golf: The 2013 Miramonte golf season is in full swing. Henry Cassriel ‘14, Patrick Fabian ‘13 and Kevin Swimmer ‘14 lead the team to victory with the lowest cumulative scores. Although suffering a loss to Dublin, the team is still in good position to make NCS.

Women’s Lacrosse:  With their exciting win against Dublin, lacrosse moves to 1-0 in league and 3-2 on the season.  Captains Julia Govan ‘13, Lauren Dougherty ‘13 and Maddy Bush ‘13  are getting the team ready for the big game against Campo today.
