Mats tennis has continued its dominant run, winning three matches over the past week to extend their record to 13-0. Miramonte won 7-2 over Acalanes, 8-1 against Davis High School, and scored a close 5-4 victory over Dougherty Valley.

The wins against Acalanes and Dougherty Valley give Miramonte a 4-0 record in DFAL, putting them at the top of the rankings.

After so many blowouts and easy wins, the close match against Dougherty Valley on March 14 created some nervous moments for the Mats.

“We were in trouble for a while there, but some players came through with key performances that assured us the victory,” Andrew Tan ’13 said.

The match was highlighted by wins from Miramonte’s No. 1 singles player, Luke Bohuslav ’13, who won 6-3, 6-2, and Peter Martin ’15, who clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-7 (2) victory.

Miramonte, the defending NCS champions, will continue their quest for a repeat on Monday, March 18, at home against Piedmont.
