Track and Field’s First League Meet

Track and field had their very first league meet last Wednesday at Dublin High School. They competed against Dublin and Campolindo, and placed second overall. The men’s varsity exceeded expectations in the 1600 meter race. Tyler Hanson ‘13 came in first with a time of 4:27, Dillon Read ‘13 came in a close second at 4:29 and Mark Tamminga ’13 took third with 4:37. The boys also did well in field events. Will Fuller ‘13 took first place in the men’s high jump with a height of 6 ft.

The girls seemed to be more successful in the shorter distance races. Rebekah Ent ’13 and Christina Romak ‘13 took first and second place in the 400 meter race. Genevieve Murphy ‘14 placed first in the 300 meter hurdles and teammate Hannah Li ‘14 took second. Georgia Roden ‘15 placed third in the girl’s high jump, not one of her usual events, with an impressive height of 4’10”.
