Men’s Golf Swings and Misses

This week the men’s golf team took a hard loss against Acalanes, ending with a close score of 198-191.

“We were expecting it to be an easy win on Acalanes and things didn’t exactly go our way,” Kevin Swimmer ‘13 said.

Swimmer is currently battling a hurt tendon in his elbow affecting his ability to swing. “Hopefully I’ll be recovered soon but tendons sometimes don’t heal very quickly,” Swimmer said.

Although most of the team was disappointed by their performance, captain Henry Cassriel ‘14 shot a 33, tying his lowest match score from earlier this year against Dublin.

“We are focused on trying to win our league and advancing to NCS,” Cassriel said. “Hopefully after NCS we will go to the state tournament.”

Despite this minor setback, the Mats are working hard on the green to prepare for Acalanes at home next week. “We’re usually better at home and have been working hard all week for redemption, so we are looking forward to playing them next week,” Dominic Paoletti ‘14 said.
