Men’s Lacrosse Faces Some Adversity

Miramonte men’s lacrosse is now 5-4 overall after losing to Marin Academy by one goal last Friday, then pulling out a win over Bend 12-8 Monday night.

Marin Academy won NCS last year so the team was somewhat nervous going into Friday night. They came out strong and kept up with the Wildcats the whole game until they fell behind by one towards the end of the second half. Sam Tuttle ‘15 had a shot with two seconds left to tie but the goalie blocked it to hold of the Mats.

Although the Mats won on Monday, they lost Mac Lavis ’14, a long stick midi and starter, to a bad concussion after a shot ricocheted off his helmet. Patrick Swan ’14 also hurt his arm during the game.

Tomorrow, Thursday, March 28, the team takes on another non-league opponent, Piedmont. They’re hoping to defeat the Highlanders before diving back into league play after Spring Break.
