Swimming Takes a Splash

Miramonte swimming takes on Alhambra at home tonight and is expecting a sweeping defeat. Tonight will be the last meet they have against teams where they can count on a win. Starting next week, the meets will get more intense against schools including Campolindo, Acalanes, and Las Lomas.

Swimmers complain Monday morning practice drains them for the rest of the week, and Wednesday morning practices deprives them from sleeping in. However, practices seem easier now because the beginning of the season was dedicated to getting into shape.

On Wednesday morning, the Mats were anticipating a hard set, but coach Donnie surprised them with an outing to Millie’s Kitchen instead. Other team bonding events will be held in the future.

“I’m excited to play laser tag after our Palo Alto meet,” Andrew Furtado ’14 said.

Practices during spring break will be held every morning from 7:15 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. This is a prime week to develop your skills and stay in shape.

A meet verses Las Lomas will be held the Friday after spring break at Las Lomas.
