On Saturday, March 29 Tyler Hanson ‘13 took second place in the 2 mile race at the Adidas Meet of Champions Distance Classic, held at the Azuza Pacific University in southern California. Hanson came in with a time of 9:10.29, which now ranks him as third in California and ninth in the nation for this event.

“When I got off the track a reporter came over to me and told me I was 9th in the country. I was mostly surprised,” Hanson said. Shortly after all of the excitement, Hanson, being the focused and committed athlete that he is, started to think about preparing for future races, in order to keep his national ranking. Hanson’s main goal is to keep improving his own times, which he will have quite a few more chances to do in his final year at Miramonte.
