Perfect Season Within Reach

Only four games remain for the Miramonte men’s tennis team this year, and the quest for a perfect season is reaching a critical point. At 19-0, 9-0 DFAL, the Mats are in command of the rankings and look to be the team to beat heading into NCS.

On Tuesday, the Mats defeated local rival Acalanes on their home turf with a strong 7-2 showing. Luke Bohuslav ’13 led the team at the No. 1 singles position, winning his match 7-6 (4), 7-5. All three doubles teams also won their matches in straight sets.

“We don’t want to get too far ahead of ourselves but we are thinking about lineups for post-season tournaments,” Andrew Tan ’13 said. With the DFAL tournament on April 25, 26 and 27 and NCS Championships on May 3- 4, Miramonte is beginning to prepare for the most important few weeks of the season.

“Going undefeated would be an awesome accomplishment butthat’s not our main goal,” Bohuslav said. “We only take it one match at a time.”

The Mats’ next match is against Dougherty Valley at home on Tuesday, April 16.
