Baseball Travels to Fort Bragg

Drew Anderson, Staff Writer

Over the break the Mats headed up to Fort Bragg for their annual tournament. While there they played two games, winning one and losing one.                                                       The first game the Mats played was against Valley Christian. On a day where the bats showed up, the Mats ended up on the losing end of a seven to six game. Later that day the offense got rolling and the Mats steam rolled Fort Bragg by a score of twenty to zero.                                                                                                                                                             After the break the Mats jumped right back into league play and took on rival Acalanes on Tuesday. James Vaccarro 16’ had a strong outing giving up four runs in five innings, offensively the team did manage to get six hits, but could never string them together, and ended up leaving many runners on base.                                                     “Obviously it wasn’t the outcome we wanted but we got great pitching from James we just need to give him more run support” said Bennett Stehr 14’.
