The women’s lacrosse team pulled out a win this past Tuesday after losing to Acalanes last Friday.

Knowing Acalanes would be a difficult team, the Mats kept their focus and were tied with the Dons at the end of the first quarter. Acalanes stepped up their offensive games and began scoring goal after goal in the second half. Opposing team player Chloe Landry scored nine goals by the end of the game and the Mats couldn’t keep up.

However, captain Lauren Dougherty ‘13 scored four goals in addition to an assist. Although the final score was 6-18, the Mats pulled out a win against Alhambra on Tuesday, April 15.

“Everyone on the team contributed to this game. It was great to see us all working together,” Olivia Vigo ’16 said.

Maddy Bush ‘13, usually in the goal, was put to play out in the field for the first time and scored a goal with five seconds remaining in the game. With a final score of 19-1, the lacrosse team hopes to keep up their winning streak as they play Dublin tonight.
