Over the weekend, the California Allstars Black-Ops cheerleading team from Livermore, California took first place in their division at the Worlds Cheerleading Competition. Carrie Requa ’14 was among the winning team and returned home as a world champion.

The Worlds Cheerleading competition was held in Orlando, Florida and has teams from over 70 countries. Requa and her team competed in the Co-ed Medium division, which had a lot of tough competition.

“There are no words to describe the feeling,” Requa said. “You work all year for one goal, and when you achieve it, there’s a huge mix of emotions of being ecstatic, but sad at the same time because it’s all over.”
