Teachers Trek Through Mud

Jack Garrett and Kate Laughton

Last weekend, teachers Mike Plant, Steve Poling, Brian Henderson, Manoa Koepp, Peter Clauson, Nick Carpenter, and Jeremy Foltz attended the Tough Mudder event at Northstar Resort in Lake Tahoe. As a team, their objective was not to win the race, but to simply finish. The Tough Mudder is a race/obstacle course in which participants face roughly 15 challenges ranging from plowing through ice water to dodging10,000 volts of electricity. All the teacher prepared for the event in their own way. “I run 50 miles a week,” Plant said. In the end, the teachers all had a fun time at the Tough Mudder and were happy to “take a warm shower” back at the cabin they were staying at.
