Mats Basketball Update 18 December

The Varsity Men’s basketball squad had an impressive showing this weekend at the Vacaville High Classic. After a few dominating performances in the early rounds, the Mats were set to battle it out against the sharpshooters of Davis High in the championship game. Falling just short, the Mats lost by 3 points, 82-79.

Drew Anderson ‘14 led the team in scoring throughout the tournament, an impressive feat for someone just one week out of winning an NCS championship on the gridiron. Anderson averaged over 20 points, and had 26 in his first game back.

The team travels down to San Luis Obispo this weekend, to compete in their annual Mission Prep Classic. The Mats look to get back key player and great defender Rene Clark ’14, who has been slow to return after a knee injury suffered in the football season.
