Every year, Miramonte celebrates its graduating class Senior Week, a farewell tour during the final days of the school year. While the rest of the student body diligently works to pass their finals, the senior class enjoys a week full of activities, ranging from parades through the Orinda elementary schools to the final goodbye rally.
The first event, Time of Reflection, actually happens a week prior to the final week of school. Held at Temple Isaiah in Lafayette, Time of Reflection celebrates the many skills and talents of the graduating class, allowing students to perform a range of unique abilities from singing to acting to speaking.
“Time of reflection is a celebration for all seniors to showcase their talents and passions in front of friends and family. We have this tradition because it bonds the senior class together and serves as a celebration to forever be cherished,” senior Eva Crinks said.
Following Time of Reflection, the week of 5/19 becomes a spirit week celebrating the senior class, with dress-up themes for each day as well as separate events throughout the week. Senior Day will begin Tuesday, May 20, with a day planned full of events for the Class of 2025.
Later that night, a private awards ceremony will be held for select seniors in the MHS theatre, awarding students who showcased excellence during their time at Miramonte.
On Thursday night, Senior Sunset will be held on the football field, where students will spend the evening on the field with friends and food.
Finally, to end the week, the Senior Rally will be held on Friday, filled with the typical fun acting and events, as well as a goodbye segment where the graduating class will have a chance to say “goodbye” to their favorite staff at Miramonte.
The following week, the final week of school, will start off on Tuesday with a Cap and Gown Parade. Seniors will get the chance to take a trip to their elementary schools to march around campus and not only celebrate their own achievements but also inspire younger generations to strive to be like them. Finally, on Thursday, there will be a graduation rehearsal held on the field for all seniors, followed by actual graduation a day later. Graduation will be followed up with a grad party, planned by the parents club, with the location undisclosed until after graduation.
