On Sept 10th, there was the annual club fair where students interested in signing up for clubs have the opportunity to look around at the 119 booths advertising different clubs. The event took place in the big gym; there was an extended lunch so that students could have more time to explore the various clubs offered here at Miramonte.
Many new clubs came to this year’s club fair. All club presidents had to fill out a club application form by Aug. 29 in order to participate in Club Day.
Once they have been approved, clubs begin preparing for club day ahead of time to ensure that their booths were appealing to the eye so as to encourage people to sign up. In preparation, club presidents worked on posters or tri-folds, as well as bought treats or prizes to incentivize sign-ups.
During the fair, club leaders arrived early to set up booths presenting information about their clubs, including sign-up sheets for anyone interested in participating in the club throughout the school year.
The event was held throughout the entire lunch. Each club was provided with one table to present information about their club in a layout of their choosing. Many clubs used a tri-fold to display details about the club while others used posters. A sign-up sheet was also at each club booth, so any students interested can sign up.
Sophomore Lucy Balonick is starting her own club this year, named Cards for Hospitalized Kids, and hosted a booth at Club Day.
“[At Club Day,] we explain[ed] what our club does and what our mission is. We [had] a sign-up sheet and example cards for people to look through,” Balonick said.
