Baseball
Miramonte Baseball is looking to improve upon last year’s campaign in head coach Skip Tague’s second season under the helm. Last season, the team finished with a 12-13 record, but went 9-3 in Diablo-Valley league play, claiming the league title. The team was led by pitcher J.D. Pearce ‘24, pitcher Brody Bornstein ‘24 and catcher Joe Shallat ‘24, all of whom are continuing to play at the collegiate level. While these three leave big shoes to fill, several contributing juniors from last season return, including Preston Rguem ‘25, Austin Bilello ‘25, Luke Holden ‘25, Duncan Oliver ‘25, Casey Yung ‘25 and Kobe Wong ‘25. “We expect to go into this season and make an NCS run. We have a lot of starters returning this year,” Luke Holden ‘25 said.
Softball
Miramonte Softball is seeking to build off a successful 2024 campaign, retaining nearly its entire roster. They finished the season 14-8, captured the DAL Mountain Division title, and beat rival Campolindo 24-7. Despite a disappointing first round NCS loss to Encinal High School, the team only lost two graduating seniors and returns with many of their top players. Primary starting pitcher Abby Warren ‘26 is back after pitching 105 innings last season. The team’s top six batting average leaders are back, consisting of Gianna Granzella ‘27, Talia Kardon ‘27, Julia Quinn Ferguson ‘25, Maddie McKim ‘27, Warren and Avery Haynes ‘26. Miramonte Girls Lacrosse is looking towards a big year after a highly successful 2024 season. They finished 10-9 with a 5-1 league record, placing them second in the competitive DAL Foothill league. After beating rivals Campolindo and Acalanes in the regular season, they suffered a heartbreaking 12-8 NCS semifinal loss to Campolindo. However, there is strong retention as the team’s top five goal scorers return, including Sawyer Bohlig ‘26 (Northwestern commit), Dylan Tawes ‘25 (Cal-Dominican commit), Sydney Gray ‘27, Mackenzie Pearce ‘26 and Emma Glanville ‘25. “We are in a great position to win league and then push that effort far into NCS, so everyday we need to arrive ready to work together. We need to work hard not only for ourselves but for each other,” Dylan Tawes ‘25 said.

Men’s Volleyball
The Miramonte Men’s Volleyball team is looking forward to making new strides in the 2025 spring season. Although the team is still young, the group has gotten better year after year, and through the leadership of a strong senior class, the team is ready to make some damage in league and NCS play.
Men’s Golf
Miramonte Men’s Golf is looking ahead to the 2024-25 campaign after an electric 2023-24 season. The team made a deep run at the NCS tournament, with a strong senior class led by Bowen Sande ‘24, John Dunne ‘24, and Andrew Harrick ‘24. However, now that the team lost six of its seven highest-ranking players, the group needs to find a new squad of leaders, particularly among returning golfers like Archer Eames ‘25 and Zain Nazar ‘27. “The team is looking forward to a good season and we are pretty optimistic on how it’s going to go. We have a lot of young guys willing to grind which will definitely help. Our same coaching returns which will definitely help guide these younger guys into some solid play hopefully,” Eames said. “We put in a lot of effort over the off season and are looking forward to success.”
Men’s Lacrosse
The Miramonte Men’s Lacrosse team anticipates a hopeful and fruitful season as spring rolls around. After a rough season last year, the team looks forward to many new additions to hopefully lead the team deep into the league and NCS playoffs. “Well I can speak for the whole team when I say we are all very excited for the upcoming season. The ultimate goal for the season is to grow as a team while also gunning for the ncs title,” Campbell said.
