Disney Stars Then and Now

Selena Gomez:
Selena Gomez, everybody’s favorite wizard! Gomez starred on “Wizards of Waverly Place”, “Princess Protection Program”, “Ramona and Beezus”, “Another Cinderella Story”, “Hannah Montana”, “Suite Life of Zack and Cody” and many others. Gomez is now 27 years old. During Disney Channel Gomez released some songs but didn’t come out with albums till after Disney Channel. Gomez came out with multiple albums: Rare, Revival, For You, and many others. Gomez suffers from lupus disease, but is very open about her disease and is trying to raise awareness for it. Lupus disease is when the immune system attacks its own body tissues.
“I watched “Wizards of Waverly Place”, and I loved Selena Gomez. I really liked her because of her character on the show because she had really cool powers,” sophomore Reece Harris stated.

Dylan Sprouse:
Dylan Sprouse’s most famous roles were “Suite Life of Zack and Cody” and “Suite Life on Deck”. Sprouse starred on multiple shows with his twin brother, Cole Sprouse, especially when they were kids. They shared roles from time to time on shows and movies like “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus”, and “Grace Under Fire”, since they had the same face. Sprouse is now 27 years old. Sprouse is dating Barbara Palvin, Victoria’s Secret model. Sprouse has continued acting projects after his departure from Disney Channel. Sprouse starred in “Dismissed”, a thriller, and “Carte Blanche”. According to Indie Wire, “I definitely want to stay more on the movie end. I know everyone’s moving over to television right now but I think where I’m at, I’d rather do film,” Sprouse said.
Cole Sprouse:
In his Disney Channel days, Cole Sprouse starred in, “Suite Life of Zack and Cody” and “Suite Life on Deck”. Similar to his brother, Dylan Sprouse, the two debuted in multiple shows and movies when they were younger. Sprouse is now 27 years old. Sprouse’s acting career took off after Disney Channel. Sprouse is now in the hit television show, “Riverdale”, cast as Jughead Jones, a troubled boy who meets a group of friends that guide him through a mysterious town. Sprouse is dating his co-star on “Riverdale”, Lili Reinhart.
Miley Cyrus:
Miley Cyrus starred in “Hannah Montana”, “So Undercover”, and “Bolt”. Cyrus had special appearances on many shows including “Suite Life of Zack and Cody”, “Wizards of Waverly Place”, and “High School Musical 2”. Cyrus was famous for balancing the two lives of a pop star and a regular girl on the television hit “Hannah Montana”. Cyrus is now 27 years old and is dating Cody Simpson, A duo that makes everyone smile. After Disney Channel, Cyrus focused on her singing career. Cyrus has come out with multiple albums She is Miley Cyrus, Younger Now, and many others. Cyrus also starred on some shows and movies including “The Last Song”, “LOL”, and “The Voice”.
Zendaya:
Zendaya starred on “Shake It Up”, “K.C Undercover”, “Frenemies”, and “Zapped” on Disney Channel. Zendaya is now 23 years old. Although she made her debut to stardom on Disney Channel, her career definitely took off after. After Disney Channel, Zendaya starred in “The Greatest Showman”, “Spider-man: Homecoming”, “Spider-man: Far From Home”, and “Dancing with the Stars”. Zendaya also got her own television show as the main character in “Euphoria”. While on Disney Channel Zendaya worked on her singing career and continued it a little after. Zendaya has been rumored to be in a relationship with Australian actor Jacob Elordi. Elordi is famous for his movie on Netflix, “The Kissing Booth”. Zendaya’s mom, Claire Marie Stoermer, attended Miramonte in the early ’80s. Zendaya’s mother worked at the Shakespeare Theatre here in Orinda. As a result, Zendaya spent most of her time in the theater. Zendaya grew up in Oakland, California.
Ashley Tisdale:
Ashley Tisdale was in a lot of everybody’s favorite shows and movies. She was everyone’s favorite diva. Tisdale starred in “Suite Life of Zack and Cody”, “High School Musical 1”, “High School Musical 2”, “High School Musical 3: Senior Year”, “Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure”, “Phineas and Ferb”. After Disney Channel, Tisdale went on to continue her acting and singing career. Tisdale starred in “Merry Happy Whatever”, “Scary Movie 5” and many others. Tisdale is now 34 years old and is married to singer Christopher French.
Demi Lovato:
Demi Lovato starred in “Princess Protection Program”, “Sonny with a Chance”, “So Random!”, “Camp Rock”, and “Camp Rock 2”. After Disney Channel, Lovato launched her singing career and it took off. Lovato produced albums Confident, Demi, Unbroken, Tell Me You Love Me plus many more. Lovato is 27 years old and is currently not in a relationship.
Bridgit Mendler:
Bridgit Mendler, the first vlogger. Mendler starred in “Good Luck Charlie”, “Lemonade Mouth”, “Good Luck Charlie: It’s Christmas!”, “The Clique”, and for a short period of time “Wizards of Waverly Place”. Mendler is now 27 years old and is married to Griffin Cleverly. After Disney Channel Mendler continued her acting and singing career a bit. Mendler came out with three albums: Hello My Name Is… , Nemesis, and Live in London. Television shows and movies that Mendler starred in include “Merry Happy Whatever”, “Father of the Year”, “Undateable”, “Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2”, and “Nashville”.
“I watched “Good luck Charlie”, which is the show Bridgit Mendler was on and I loved it. I like her as an actress and I thought her character was funny,” sophomore Lindsey Lucas said.
