The Perfect Activities To Do As Fall Time Rolls In

With the summer season coming to an end and a new school year starting back up, it can be easy to fall into a mundane routine. Yet, with a new season also comes a bunch of new activities to get excited about! Fun activities include watching seasonal movies, hiking, going to a pumpkin patch, and baking.

One fun activity to do with friends or family is to go to a drive-in movie. Fall nights create the perfect environment for this, not too hot or too cold.  A close by drive-in is the West Wind Solano Drive-In movie theater in Concord, California. Another honorable mention is the Disney/Pixar’s HD Live Drive-In theater located in Emeryville, California.

If you’re looking for something more active, fall is the perfect time to go on a fun nature hike. The new seasonal weather creates the perfect environment for this, avoiding the summer heat and sweat, while also avoiding the cold! The turning of the leaves provides for a beautiful scenic experience which is sure to bring a smile to your face. Great places to hike include the Lafayette Reservoir in Lafayette, California, the Sequoia Bayview Trail Trailhead in Oakland, California, and Rancho Laguna Park in Moraga, California. Another great hiking location is Inspiration Point in Orinda, California.

Another classic fall activity is to go to a pumpkin patch! Once again, the temperature provides for the perfect environment to do leisurely outdoor activities without getting uncomfortable. Some great, local pumpkin patches are the Piedmont Avenue Pumpkin Patch in Oakland, California, and the Shadelands Ranch Pumpkin Patch in Walnut Creek, California.

Baking is another relaxing and entertaining activity to do in the fall. Some delicious things to bake are cookies, brownies, muffins, apple pie, and pumpkin bread. Once you’re done baking, you can then snuggle up on the couch and enjoy your food while watching a seasonal movie.

Fall time creates a cozy environment to watch all of the classic seasonal movies. Such movies include, ‘Halloweentown’, ‘Hocus Pocus’, and ‘Ghostbusters’. Another all time favorite is ‘Elf’, because it’s never too early to start watching Christmas movies! “My favorite part of fall is watching ‘Halloweentown’,” junior Cece Cohen said.

“In fall I like to wear comfy clothes and watch movies,” junior Ellie Foster said. Fall is the perfect time to break out your favorite pair of sweatpants and a cozy hoodie to stay in and watch a movie.

“During the fall I love to open my window at night and listen to the rain,” junior Thomas Quinnild said. Rainy days are another treat the fall season brings.

With all the fun summer brings, it is time to get out of the heat and start to wake up to the beautiful morning fog rolling over the hills, which are covered in trees, with red and orange leaves.
