WHY manifest?

As you sit in bed at night, fantasizing about your future, has it ever occurred to you that you have the power to make those dreams real? Enter manifestation, a tool that helps you attract your dreams through your energy. According to Thrive Global, the law of attraction is “the principle stating that we attract experiences and circumstances that are of the same frequency as our thoughts and beliefs.” While manifestation is the tool that can help you achieve these goals, the law of attraction is truly the conduit that connects energy to result. By being pessimistic, and thus putting out negative energy, you can attract undesirable circumstances into your life, but it works both ways. Verbalizing your intentions and focusing on your energy allows you to manifest your dream life.

WHAT is manifestation?

Manifestation dates back to the nineteenth century, but it gained popularity in modern times after Rhonda Byrne’s 2006 self-help book, The Secret. According to thesecret.tv, the official The Secret website, the book centers on the law of attraction and how thoughts can influence one’s life. In 2020, various methods of the spiritual practice blew up on TikTok, mostly targeting Generation Z, as people began to “manifest” their dreams into reality. Though there are many variations of the process, manifestation ultimately is intended to help achieve one’s goal, whether it be love, success, or even money. There are three popular methods of manifestation: the 3-6-9 method, the 55 x 5 method, and the speeches method.

HOW do you manifest?

  • 3-6-9 method

According to The Manifestation Collective, in the nineteenth century, Serbian-American inventor Nikola Tesla stated, “If you knew the magnificence of the numbers 3, 6 and 9, you have the key to the universe.” The number 3 directly links to the universe due to its three-dimensionality (normal matter, dark matter, dark energy), the number 6 represents our inner strength, and the number 9 releases negative feelings. These numbers make up the 3-6-9 manifestation method.

Step 1: Decide what you want to manifest. Your manifestation could be about anything! For example, a highschool senior could manifest, “I am getting into my dream college.” You will write this “affirmation” with pen and paper every day for 33 days (or until you feel it has come true).

Step 2: Write down your affirmation three times each morning as soon as you wake up.

Step 3: Write down your affirmation six times each afternoon.

Step 4: Write down your affirmation nine times each evening before you go to sleep.

Some reminders: Make sure you use present tense words. Instead of “I will be getting into my dream college” use the words “I am.” You already have your desire, it just hasn’t happened yet. Also, be consistent. Skipping a couple of days makes it harder for the universe to hear and grant your desire. Lastly, don’t doubt yourself. While it may seem silly, manifestation is a centuries-old practice, utilized by philosophers, scholars, and ordinary people alike The more you believe, the more your desire is likely to come true.

  • 55 x 5 Method

Out of all the manifestation techniques, the 55 x 5 method is arguably the most simple.

Step 1: Define your goal. In order to achieve your wish, you must not only define what you want, but also the intentions behind it. In order to be successful when using this method, it is extremely important that you are very specific and clear about what you want to achieve, in a short and sweet way as you have to write it down 55 times in 5 days.

Step 2: Formulate your manifestation. Whether you have a separate manifestation journal or you just use a random notebook, your manifestation vessel isn’t the key to success—what you write is. Take your time forming your affirmations. In order for your goals to manifest, it is important that you compose your desires properly. Make sure to write your affirmation in the present tense, and keep it short, specific, and most importantly: positive!

Step 3: Write it out. Write down your affirmation 55 times for five days. This can also work for a number like 44 x four days or even 77 x seven days. While this journaling technique isn’t the key to success, with the right intentions and visualization, this method can allow you to tap into your subconscious mind and watch as your dreams become reality.

  • Speeches (say it like it’s already happened)

Speeches are one of the easiest ways to manifest without committing any extra work. While you can write these down, speeches are typically spoken out loud every day until your desire comes true. Once you have your affirmation, your “speech” will sound as if you have already achieved your goals. Talk about how grateful you are for receiving whatever it is you wanted to manifest. Pretend that your goal is already a reality. Make sure you stay positive throughout the speech and avoid any doubtful or negative feelings. These should be short and sweet, though longer manifestations can be written down!
